The Hinterland
Lough Allen, the second largest lake on the Shannon, is just a short stretch away and is a paradise for angling and water sports. The Leitrim Way and the Cavan Way are the local way marked hiking trails. The Kingfisher Cycle Trail has a local circuit.

The nearest village, Dowra, is within walking distance (ca. 800 m). Dowra is the first village on the "Broad Majestic Shannon". Four shops, a post office, a bank and five pubs give opportunity for shopping and entertainment. A special attraction is the Mart, a cattle market which is held at least once a week and is attended by many farmers from the surrounding areas.

The deserted beaches of the northwest are just 45 minutes drive away. Blacklion Golf Club, the nearest of the many golf courses and links, is within a 15 km distance. Sligo and Enniskillen are great locations for shopping or nitelife.
